A self organised 9 day trip to the Zermatt area of Switzerland in early Sept 2006.All the treks were self guided,Zermatt has the best signposted paths in Europe as well as a compehensive network of cable cars ,mountain trains ,mountain huts,hotels and restaurants.There are treks to suit every ability from simple forest walks to extreme climbs like the Matterhorn.We chose treks at lower altitude and difficulty to start with and increased the difficulty and distance as we went along.Very few places in the world beat Zermatt for scenery.The weather was very good for the whole duration of the trip,mainly sunshine every day with localised storms and rain only in the evenings.
