Fira Town is the capital of Santorini.Also called Thera or Chora.Is perched on the edge of a 1000ft cliff .Very busy town during the summer ,very spectacular views of the caldera and the main area for eating out and shopping as well as picking up ferries and boats for daytrips to the volcano and therasia.Is a network of narrow cobblestone streets mainly pedestrian that take many days to explore,some of them are so steep that even the rubbish collection is done by donkey.Its connected to the harbour below by some 600 steps ,there are 3 choices ,walk down the steps,ride the donkeys at 3 euro one way or take the cable car.
