Day 1
After a 7 hr flight with two stops (Tangiers and Casablanca) we arrived in Marrakesh late evening.In the morning we loaded ourselves and our laggage in three land rovers and took the road to the High Atlas for the Mgoun trek.We had a short stop in Azilal for lunch and still wondering why we were travelling in such rugged vehicles started the ascent to the Bougoumez valley.The road started to deteriorate with boulders and pot holes allover.That didnt seem to detter our drivers who carried on with the same speed anyway.We survived to reach the Tizi N Tirghist pass at 2600m for another stop and some photos.From there was only a short , more comfortable ride to our gite in Imelghas.Very basic accomodation, only luxury, running cold water,matresses on the floor and no electricity.The short introductory walk to the grain store was very pleasant with good views of the valley and a look at next days trek route.
