Early morning wake up for 8:30am start, very cold as the sun did not reach the campsite until after 8am.We headed up into the Emli valley on the dirt road, that changed to a good path after a while. The path took us deeper in the valley ,as the trees started to thin out we turned right on a rough scree path that rose steeply into a huge gulley. The path kept zig-zagging and the rising heat made things more difficult. At the top of the gulley we turned right and the ground statred to be a bit more level.the first signs of life appeared in the shape of a young shepperd and his flock.Over another grassy ridge and the nomad camp appeared ,a water troph and a spring. We carried on away from the animals for lunch in a spot with good views further down. The lunch was typical of what we going to have in the next week, bread rolls, fetta cheese, tuna, tinned stuffed vineleaves, tomatos and cucumbers. The rest did wonders,we started on a different path the downward trek feeling fresh. The path was not always well defined but descending was a lot easier than ascending. We later reached another nomad camp that was abandoned and shortly after that the treeline.Further on we could see the campsite and shortly after we were home .The rest of the afternoon was spend quequeing up for the cold shower and thinking how to make a toilet door. The evening was pleasant considering the altitude and the bonfire went on until late, another major factor for our good moral was that alcohol was available throughout the trek.
